Starting my travel advisor journey in Spring 2024, I leaned into my careful, cynical Gen X lens and set one clear, practical goal: earn my TICO Certification - the Ontario government - mandated credential required for all travel advisors. I studied every chapter (yep, the dry ones), passed, and learned something important: even after all that fine print, I was still absolutely obsessed with travel.
So I took the next step.
I chose Onvigo as my host agency and invested my own time in training. Was I nervous? Of course. Anyone starting something new is. But my love of all things travel helped me make decisions that were right for me.
Let me say it louder for the ladies in the back: right. for. me.
Becoming a TLN Super Agent (Small Goal, Big Momentum)
My first milestone after joining Onvigo was clear: become a TLN Super Agent. TLN - Travel Leaders Network - is Onvigo’s consortium, which means I’m part of a community with an extensive advisor directory. Travellers search by destination or specialty, and Super Agents surface higher in those results. Translation: when someone’s looking for help with Bali, Ireland, Costa Rica, or one of my other specialties, I’m easier to find.
I took my time, built the components, checked the boxes, and moved up. It’s a meaningful step—and a quiet, proud reminder that I belong here.
